The design of the coin is a kangaroo standing on a mound of grass with a sun and stylised trees as a backdrop.
Security Feature (for 1oz and 1kilo coin only): a micro-laser engraved letter within AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO heading of the coin.
The design incorporates the Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark and also includes the inscription THE AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, the 2019 year-date, weight, and purity.
The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin.
