Geiger Edelmetalle introduced the new lineup of square silver and gold bars in 2017, and these bars come with some of the latest in security measures to prevent counterfeiting. First and foremost, the security capsule can only be opened by destroying it, meaning resale of tampered bars is near impossible with an intact security capsule.
Each 1 oz Geiger Square Silver Bar has both visible and non-visible security features as well. There is a pearl finish on the surface of the bars, a ribbed edge similar to those found on bullion coins, and a high-relief mintage of the design features with a structured reverse field. Each bar has an individual serial number and has UV-coating revealing a non-visible security feature only under a black light.
The obverse of the 1 oz Geiger Square Silver Bar includes the stamped engraving of Schloss Guldengossa. The first registered office of Geiger Edelmetalle, this castle outside of Leipzig, Germany was built in 1720.
