Geiger Edelmetalle introduced the new lineup of square silver and gold bars in 2017, and these bars come with some of the latest in security measures to prevent counterfeiting. First and foremost, the security capsule can only be opened by destroying it, meaning resale of tampered bars is near impossible with an intact security capsule.

Each 1 oz Geiger Square Silver Bar has both visible and non-visible security features as well. There is a pearl finish on the surface of the bars, a ribbed edge similar to those found on bullion coins, and a high-relief mintage of the design features with a structured reverse field. Each bar has an individual serial number and has UV-coating revealing a non-visible security feature only under a black light.

The obverse of the 1 oz Geiger Square Silver Bar includes the stamped engraving of Schloss Guldengossa. The first registered office of Geiger Edelmetalle, this castle outside of Leipzig, Germany was built in 1720. Youll also find engravings of the refinery name, weight, metal content, and purity on this face.

On the reverse of the Geiger Square Silver Bar is a repeating design that arranges the famed LEV rhombus of the mint in horizontal rows. In the center of the design is the UV-coating that reveals the additional LEV rhombus under black light. The serial number is also engraved on this side of the bars.

Geiger Edelmetalle is a family-owned refining operation with deep roots in Germany. Silver has been mined in the Saxon mountains for more than 1,000 years, and Geiger Edelmetalle has been there for a vast stretch of that time as a leader in German precious metal refining.
